China and India are so similar.
Therefore, the comparison between China and India is a topic of interest to all scholars around the world: when most conditions of the two obxts are the same, it is easy to compare and study a few differences and draw valid conclusions.
I made a list to compare the similarities between China and India:
1. History
Both countries are famous ancient civilizations with long history and splendid culture.
2. Religion
Both countries are countries where multiple religions coexist, and Chinese Buddhism even first came from India.
3. Population
Both countries have huge populations and face various demographic and racial issues.
4. Land
Both have vast land. Although China’s territory is larger than India’s, its habitable area is actually close to India’s.
5. Resources
Both countries have some natural resources, but neither is particularly rich in energy, minerals, etc.
6. Economic foundation
Both countries are poor developing countries, and their economic levels were almost the same when they started.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the GDP and per capita income of the two countries were almost the same. Both countries are facing serious problems such as economic development, environmental pressure, uneven development, and the gap between rich and poor.
7. Colonial history
Both China and India have experienced painful colonial times. India was once completely colonized by the British, while China was carved up by many countries and experienced a "century of national humiliation."
8. Political independence
China and India are both relatively politically independent countries. They have all vacillated between the Eastern and Western blocs, never really belonging to one camp or another.
This makes that among the 200 countries in the world, no country except China has so many similarities with India. At present, China is further ahead than India on the track of national development. So, it is natural that Indians like to compare with China, because all players like to stare at the person in front of them.

I know Chinese think Com...ism is better than every other system. But prior to this decade, China did not have a good anything. Every system has its high and a low - like a normal distribution curve. Ancient China, Ancient India, Ancient Egypt, Britain, USA and now China. Every single one of them, at their peak, thought they have the best system. And then every single one crumbled.

We compare with same classmates who are winners not loser… In the Asian neighbourhood, China is class topper and hence India is compared with it. Though India's benchmate was Pakistan, it has fallen down in economics criteria and hence is a loser. China M government established in 1949, India in 1947. Think all as same class batch for analogy.

Most Indians don’t understand China as well. The media is highly biased and always puts China in a bad light. In reality, it should be mixed.
Thanks to Modi (including his latest remarks) and part acceptance of bollywood (3 idiots, dangal, 12th fail) in China - that view of people is changing. People relate more with China than with the West. It is going to take decades, but it is changing in the right direction.

How do people draw the line of freedom and violation of another? Does rape, killing others, destroy property of other consider as freedom ? Certainly not.
If a scammer misrepresentating as a trustworthy money manager so they can scam people for money for their own personal gain, should that be said as freedom of speech ?
If media misrepresented things deliberately for their personal gain so they can get more views, and therefore monetary gain, should that be allowed ? If media receive money by politician, foreign organisation so they can black mouth others, inciting hate, riot, discrimination, property damage, should that count as freedom of speech ?
I am a reserved fan of freedom of speech but not without limits. If the intention is for personal gain, there is a problem. I see that Indian media is full of misinformation in the name of free speech

The media in our country is a reflection of our citizens. Media caters to the majority so that they can make money from viewership.
Freedom of speech is very powerful. And for someone who grew up in a democracy, a must have. Speech or media is not the problem here. The real problem is quality education and decent jobs. As the latter two improve, media will follow suit.

It is hard for everyone to get quality education. Noatter what country, you see people believe vaccine is a tool that drug company use to control people. You see people saying the earth is flat. You see people in cult .
Maybe media make money from viewership is the problem . When they consider money as the most important thing disregarding the truthfulness, there is a problem. Gaslighting , defamation, withhout reflecting on the truth is a real problem.

Basically the only reason to do so is due to the fact that both countries have more than 1 billion people, other than that I see no valid reason to compare.

The west. Western countries love to compare china and India due to the size but also they do want india to win for a simple reason India is a democratic country having India winning means that democracy works, it's good for their propaganda, you can easily find the news about India catching up with china back since the 2000s
